No one should have to face school challenges alone. With United Way’s Homework Help & Tutoring, students gain not just academic support, but also a team of caring adults cheering them on. Whether it’s tackling tricky math problems, improving reading skills, or preparing for a big test, we’re here to provide the tools and encouragement every student needs. Families are always welcome to reach out for extra resources or advice. Let’s work together to build confidence and inspire a lifelong love of learning!

Free homework help for students

Our Homework Help program pairs students with volunteers for one-on-one and group tutoring in a range of subjects.

When:   Monday-Thursday 3pm-5pm

Where:  United Way of HDC Office

  445 W. Main St., Clarksburg

  (Harrison Co. Board of Education Building)

Students can drop in for help with math, reading, science, and more. 


Caring volunteers include retired teachers, college students, and subject-area experts—each focused on helping learners build skills and confidence. Beyond academic support, we offer encouragement, study strategies, and a safe space for asking questions. Families are invited to stay connected through regular updates and workshops on building effective study habits at home.
